Ask Terra #2

Ask Terra

Welcome to my Q&A session. Ask me anything about WoW, the Lore and everything in between and I shall answer. For this feature to be a success, it needs YOU! Please ask any questions you like by commenting on this post and I shall answer them in future posts.

This weeks questions cover Lore, Gameplay and the dreaded Dirge

Which spec do you consider the most correct lore-wise for each class?

Deathknight – Unholy, nothing about these creatures is correct, so unholy seems most fitting

Druid – balance, they are masters of nature and thus calling upon it (treants, hurricane, starfall) seem fitting. The only quibble I have is the use of arcane but everyone must adapt and most of their spells are nature based.

Hunter – beast mastery, a hunter is nothing without his pet companion beside him.

Mage – Arcane, mages were shunned from society for practising arcane and every spec variates from arcane at the start.

Paladin – Difficult one, holy because some paladins were orignally clerics and thus their affinity for holy is strongest in their heals and auras, however just as many were warriors or knights, so retribution also fits. Holy however I feel dominates as it epitimises everything that paladins stand for.

Priest – holy, like paladins, they work with the power of the light and holy fits this perfectly, giving others blessings and heals derived from holy.

Rogue- Assassination, rogues are at home with daggers, These in my opinion are the quintessential weapons for rogues and the idea that they attack from behind from nowhere fits them well.

Shaman – elemental, calling on the power of nature and the elements is what shamans are about, they are magic dealers more than anything else thus elemental is the nature path

Warlock- Tough one, all specs are evil and demonic but I would have to go with Demonology, what sets warlocks apart from mages it the ability to commune with demons and demonic taints about everything, so whilst their spells are similiar they do call upon dark energies to produce them and also having the ability to have dominion over demons is what a warlock is all about.

Warrior – Fury, reckless charing in rar berserking – that is how I feel warriors are, headstrong if somewhat lacking in intelligence, they are machines of pure power and fury fits this best, arms is more tactical and protection is defensive, no no no

If you could only roll one race & class and had to play it all the way from 1 to forever without ever playing another class, what would it be and why?

I would play a rogue, as they are my favourite class and I never grow tired of them and it would be a difficult choice, but I think an undead rogue would be my first choice

If Deathwing’s Son and Daughter are lurking around in Azeroth already how come we’ve never come across the big man himself yet, where’s he been hiding?

The Story of Deathwing is an awesome one (read; day of the dragon and night of the dragon) but simply he was a massively powerful entity (still is). But simply he was part of corrupting the dragon/demon soul bla bla bla – eventually it was used to attack him and thus weaken him, he was seen to fly off being chased by the other dragon aspects – however in Night of the dragon, it was revealed he was hiding/trapped under grim batol and thus his influence was still apparently in the already cursed mountain, causing him to create the twilight dragons with the assistance of sinestra. So he had been biding his time, gradually getting stronger again, as he lost a vast portion of his power and his control over the other aspects.

Who started the Chuck Norris references in trade chat? And is Chuck Norris > Dirge?

Overlord Saurfang started it and Chuck Norris uses dirge as a ball scratcher

    By saying

“I must, I must, I must improve my bust”

    Oh and another one,
When you’re in a PUG, what classes do you feel most comfortable with tanking and healing for you? Eg. Warrior tank, Priest healer.

  5. Terralin says:

I normally tank so don’t have that worry – but I generally feel safer having a warrior tank and regarding healing, my experience is with priests, so again I feel more comfortable knowing I have a priest with me, more utility and the all important fortitude buff. A part of good healing is also being able to heal the party effectively as it lessens the need for me to be on the lookout as much – If I know I have a good aoe behind me, I don’t have to worry as much ( I still do )

But tl;dr – warrior and priest, the stereotypical tank and healer

  6. Kirelle says:

Oh really?! Then this druid healer will be putting your dinner in the dog ;op and also buying a dog.

  7. Terralin says:

You know you’re the exception <3
