Ulduar - Day 1!

April 26th, 2009

It was a warm Summer Thursday Night and 9 Intrepid Heroes of Kung Foo Monkey Badgers eagerly awaited fellow Badger Vindi’s downloading of patch 3.1.1.  Suspense mounted as he counted down the percentages download over Teamspeak.  Meanwhile, the teams appointed Raid Leader for the evening was frantically reading tactics to pretend he had at least a minimal amount of knowledge of Ulduar, our chosen place of Battle for the upcoming hours.  His attempt to pull the wool over his teams eyes was very quickly thwarted as questions were asked and answered with merely - “I don’t know”.  Gear checks made, Vehicles appointed.

Our Healers, Peregrinum and Auldyn were to be Greasy Bikers for the evening, Top Dps Duo Joneleth and Lemmon took charge of a Seige Vehicle while “The Tanking Duo” of TheHoff and Elfmantim took to the other.  Hunter partnered Warrior as Pekkala drove her Demolisher straddled by Horacio, with the last vehicle, a second Demolisher, being conducted by the Rogue partnership of MaryClaire and Migget.

The team took time to drive around the starting area and befriend their new weapons of destruction then, lead by Timmy, headed in to the Gauntlet.  What started off as quite a daunting run of 6 badly driven machines vs. a gazillion mobs, Robots, Gyrocopters and Giants turned out to be the fastest transition from Noobery to Imbaness that has ever been witnessed.  Wave after wave of mobs were despatched of swiftly and their homes destroyed.  We soon found ourselves face to face with Flame Leviathan surrounded by mobs, we took the mobs down and started on the big wheelbarrow himself, promptly followed by his Guardians of Nature.  It didn’t take us long to realise we hadn’t destroyed any….er all of the towers and had actually started a Hard Mode encounter of the Boss.  Still never to be defeated we gave it our best shot and got him down to 90%  Cool

The vote was made that perhaps Hard Mode instancing was for lesser guilds and as a traditional, old school guild, we should do it the normal way so destruction of towers began, led by Horacio’s instructions and Elfmantim’s directions, whilst the Raid Leader was still struggling to even figure out what day it was. We promptly returned to face “Wheelbarrow Boss” once more.  Now skilled veterans of our new vehicles confidence was high!

Tactics were set and in we went.  It didnt take long for the tactics to be tossed out of the window and a “ring-a-ring-a-roses” type affair to ensue but even as panic set in, a wipe with him at 50% was a moral victory!

Attempt 3 was where the fun really started , the forgotten art of “Gnome Tossing” was about to be reborn.  Migget and Horacio sat in the Catapults grasp, as they awaited their fate.  The Raid Leader counted down to “toss-time” and soon we would be underway, the shout of “GO!” forced Lemmon’s foot to the floor as he speed towards the Boss, his partner in crime frantically firing as he went.  Above them the gnomes flew, Horacio performing a triple somersault with pike made the perfect landing as he saw his Gnomish friends chin hit the floor beneath him.  Silence fell for a moment as we mourned Miggets passing, the laughter soon followed with not so much as an “ooops, sorry” from MaryClaire - Never trust a Rogue I always say.  The battle continued as Horacio destroyed 1 part of the turret then, in typical Badger style, died on the easy bit of jumping off of it  Cheesy

The following few attempts all bore similar stories of failed landings, dismounts, Lack of tar on the floor, being too close, being too far, running out of Gnomes, the usual problems one encounters when learning a new boss, but learning we were.  Each attempt drew us closer and closer to glory.

Finally, we were victorious……  A change of roll for TheHoff and Auldyn, had TheHoff taking Auldyn’s Helmet whilst Auldyn took charge of TheHoff’s Cannon.  Instantly the change could be seen as a success Peregrinum and TheHoff were born to ride! Tar was hitting the floor in all the right places and they were dodging, weaving, speeding, overtaking - All the things the previous rider wasn’t capable of and Auldyn was partnering his Druish Brother Timmy as if they were separated at birth.  The beautiful partnership of Joneleth and Lemmon in their mechanical monster continued to destroy the DPS Meters, whilst both Pekkala, MaryClaire got direct hits with their Gnomish buddies and were chipping away nicely at the turrets.  Every 30 seconds Flame Leviathan would change his mind over who he wanted most, Pekkala, Lemmon, Pekkala, MaryClaire and they all reacted perfectly to the change.  As the Boss swapped, Peregrinum would fly past dropping tar, which would swiftly be ignited by a single shot from Joneleth and Lemmon’s Seige Vehicle.  The boss slowed and ignited, TheHoff would then add insult to injury by perfectly placing a second Tar pool and that being just as quickly ignited. We only really began to lose people with about 20% left on the boss, we knew the opportunity may escape us another time so we took our chance and every pulled together to give that last big push, driving perfectly to force the boss into the flames and closer to the monsterous DPS provided by our Seige Vehicles……

A Massive cheer erupted as he crashed to the floor, we had all worked so hard it truely was a great feeling.  Congratulations to Peregrinum who picked up Firesoul and to Joneleth who went home with Might of the Leviathan and lets hope we see much more of that in the near future.  Badgers just put their foot through the door of Ulduar, and they do intend to be coming out the other side one day  Wink

Naxx has been spanked …

March 10th, 2009

Naxx is out biatch

Yes we did it on the 10th of March 2009, the Kung Foo Monkey Badgers Spanked Naxx

Started of by casualy killing the las boss in the spider quarter, then off to kill grobby then gluth and saph, No real problems,  sweet as a nut.

Moving on to the final fight, we started out well accidentally pulling some mobs from a quarter , still not a problem, spanked them , the came Kel’thuzad was going well up until we realised the frost tomb was killing us off one by once, after a bit of a panic we got into our stride, 6 people up and gradualy taking him down, unfortunately not enough dps, he just kept picking us off , still we got him to about 40% with just a few, imagine what we could do with the whole group :D

Buff up, ready to go, macros made to tell everyone who has the ice tomb for that extra bit of healing. In we go, after about 8 or 9 mobs we accidentally pull a bunch of fatties … nn badgers this ones a wipe , doh.

So , rebuff, fishy feast and ready to rock, Full off Guts and Rage we ran in , picking off the mobs one at a time, oh no, whats happening, we’re being flung all over the room, turns out we were letting the banshees (women) get too close, so this attempt we got spanked at the first hurdle again, double doh.

Righty , time for business .. buffed up, no fishy feat unfortunalty, a hog roast will have to do, full of food and ready to rumble we move in. tanking the mobs down as if its no problem, on to Kel’thuzad (phase2) , dodging his voids, healing his ice tombs and generally being ninjas we swiftly move onto phase 3, yes thats right .. Being the nub I am I stand in a void and am swiftly ressed by a helpful druid :D. I’m now moving around to dodge the voids , Kel’thuzad health is dropping .. phew this is a long fight. Just as were almost done I pop all my cooldowns to give the healers a break and hes down ! .. Awsomeness ..

Got to say, was great healing, great dps and the tanking was fantastic ;D Cant wait till the next one.

Just a quick write up, If anyone wants to adds anything to the stite please contact me, you may not know, but we have a picture gallery too !

Any pictures to be uplaoded please send to smc@kungfoomonkeybadgers.com or we can give you access.

Thanks again, was a blast, over and out.

What a night!

January 31st, 2009

It started reasonably cool with a badger run in Nexus heroic.

We worked us round killing trash, mobs that was a bit more difficult and then the bosses. Some deaths, the healer was not quick enough with her heals. And I better point out who the healer was before all other healers explodes and cries out don’t blame the healer! It was me . During the last fight with the chilling dragonlady I got a whisper asking if I wanted to go OS 10-man? Jump, heal, jump, jump, heal, heal, /w answer Yes . When I got in to the group I discovered that many of my favorite raid-friends was in it to, both badgers and “have-been-badgers” . Tactics for first grp was explained.
We start the attack, and then we hear a voice on ts that said Oh you are taking that group? I was heading in the other direction! Cant tell who that was, but he needs glasses, the mobs where marked .
We did the run easy and smooth, and it went so good that Jar wanted us to go straight to the main boss! The more sensitive ppl in the grp hesitated tho, and for good reasons.  The last boss with all the fire tsunamis, fire elementals and stuff is hard enough if you never done it before. But Jar - one day we will go there and do it your way!

A clear voice on ts directed us “middle!” “back!” so the most of us survived the tsunamis. One wipe, downed on second try is good job done! Grats to Kryta that got “all” the hot-stuff, gief he’s luck in rolling

After that the 10-manmostlybadgerraid joined a pug and went to VoA 25-man. We succeded on second try, and down he was. This was a great evening thanks to Jar and Aul that gets us into stuff, pushing and poking, getting things going. After a night like this I feel a warm feeling in heart, and didn’t want to logg out at all. But rl was talking to me - and I had to go to bed. I’m looking forward to more evenings like this one with my ingame-friends.

WANTED: Heroic Loken

January 16th, 2009

So Defo, Pekkala, Krakken, Hiela and I stepped into the Halls of Lightning last night for the Daily Heroic.

By no means were we expecting to waltz in and have every boss merely hand their heads to us, but from the moment we stepped through the door and started battling trash I was surprised at the ease of the encounters, from a healing perspective anyway it was not too stressful.  Fair enough, trash is trash, and by now we should be able to smack them down easily enough.

We were caught somewhat off guard and got jumped by General Bjarngrim whilst fighting trash.  Needless to say, this got Defo’s back up and following a quick res and a a rebuff we were prepared and lay in wait for his return.  This time it was us that got the jump on him and we laid the smack down  Wink but yet again General Bjarngrim surprised us………. with a lovely achievement, Lightning Struck, none of us knew existed  Grin

Onward we marched, dispatching trash like bad granny smiths and came face to face with Volkhan. No real discussion of tactics, merely a charging Gnome signified the fight had begun.  Pekkala and Hiela, mashed the adds in to the ground quicker than the “Overhealing” Druid could pull them and Kraks and Defo Chipped away at the fat man.  The battle seemed over almost as soon as it had begun and the familiar “ding” of yet another unexpected achievement, Shatter Resistant, confirmed that it was.

This “Well Oiled Machine” pressed on, growing in confidence, towards our final showdown with Loken safe in the knowledge that we were good enough to down him and complete the daily!  However, Ionar stood in the way of our heroic date with one of WoW’s most Dangerous Creatures.

A quick tactics reminder and we were off.  All seemed to be going well up until our healer (mentioning no names  Tongue) lost Line of sight with our tank and whilst carrying the Static Overload Debuff proceeded to charge through the rest of the group in order to heal our wee leader.  As successful as I..er…he may have been at getting the heal on the tank in time, he was equally successful in damaging the party enough in the process to cause a wipe  Cool

The group was kind and no blame was attributed to anyone.  It was getting late, we were getting tired, the bosses teeth were beginning to hurt and the wipe did nothing for morale, but we weren’t just some PuG off the street that collapses after a few deaths or a wipe. WE ARE BADGERS! So a quick change of tactics to avoid Line of Sight issues and we were back in business Smiley  It wasn’t the most visually pleasing or best choreographed of fights, with lots of running around with a debuff trying to avoid hurting one another and the “quick, leg it!” moments with invulnerable lightning balls on your tail, but we made it look good and it made us feel good when we downed the most annoying of elementals.

Onward we pressed…. Our sights set on Loken, our minds set on bed…..Tactics talk - “Stay close together, but spread out.  When he does Lightning Nova Run away, but not too far.” seemed an interesting melange of tactics, a little hard to take in at such a late hour. Give it a try was the consensus, so in we went…………….WIPE.  Angry

The wipe had taught us one thing, ranged DPS and Healer needed to move in closer, so attempt number 2 began and promptly followed by another wipe.  Loken cackled at us for only getting him down to 78%, but above the cackle you could hear the sound of morale cracking.

Down but not defeated, we tried and tried again, wiped and wiped again.  Everytime getting that little bit closer, but never quite close enough.  Then disaster struck,  Defo had succumbed to the agony his teeth were giving him and had to leave the group.  Sad  My head hung as I headed towards the exit, after such a great run from the start, why did I now feel so down. We HAD been successful, we had got that far, but it wasn’t enough for me. I wanted glory!  Luckily though, this was a Badger Run and Hiela and Kraks brought a glimmer of hope back - “Can we find another tank?”.  It was nearly Midnight and the boss had left, I thought it was all over and thought everyone felt the same.

I scrambled through the Guild list looking for a tank, only one was around.  The same one that the previous night I had asked to replace our tank in a heroic run and had got him killed with no success, I didn’t want to do that to him again!?!  After all, he has the power to GKick me  Tongue

Terra Kindly accepted our invite and was soon stood among us ready to do battle with my now most hated boss.  Tactic check, buff up, lets go.  A valiant effort, Terra left standing facing Loken with only 16% left on him, a good try but another Wipe.  Back in, another wipe, quicker this time.  I blame myself for that one, I panicked as everyone took a huge hit so I stood still spamming heals - you can’t stand still and live in this fight.

Final attempt, we all know our jobs we just need to gel it all together. Buff up, head in.  80% - hokey cokeying with the boss, 60% - everyone still up, health looks good, best attempt yet  Smiley 40% -  lost our highest DPS, but still taking him down well  20% - Only me and Terra are standing, my hands were shaking with excitement I could barely press the keys.  Disaster strikes, I’m Out of Mana!  How can I be out of mana? I haven’t used a Pot or Innervated yet? I’m out of Pots, but……Oh, I haven’t Innervated  Shocked Schoolboy Error shouldve used it ages ago, I’m dead.  Terra continued to solo him and an extremely good job he did too.  Sadly at 2% health, Loken finished him off.

Were we doing it wrong?  Was the DPS not enough? Was the Healer too bad? Were the tanks too squishy?  NO!  It was none of these, this guy is just plain hard.  It’s all about tactics, you can’t avoid damage, but you can lessen it by getting it right. Use everything at your disposal, anticipate his casts.  WoW Devs rarely give hints on bosses, but  this article contains such hints from Ghostcrawler, proving this to be the hardest of heroic bosses.

I felt guilty, one Innervate could’ve done the Job.  I killed Terra again. I won’t give up, even if I have to PuG this clown for the next 3 months, Loken is going down. Loken is a Badger Killer and we must have revenge!  Who’s with me?!  CHARGE!

Going out with a bang!

November 13th, 2008

Just to celebrate the fact that Wrath was coming there was a race planned by the raidleader. We wanted to get two teams running. For some extra motivation bought some excellent prizes, in the hope we really would get 20 peeps. So you can sorta say I was bribing them:PEven still I was surprised that we actually had enough peeps online and willing to join last night. I had no clue what the setup was, since I kinda expected psc to sort it all, so when I got a mail to sort a team, I started sorting. Shalz was sorting the first team ( team cheat:P) and I was sorting the second team (team slack:P)

We had to play go fish to sort peeps cos I randomly invited peeps. Shalz was better prepared than I was, off course, and had formed a good team very quick.

Team two was filled by Razorback, Elfmantim, Drisud ( nub tree:P) Lovesaga, Pekkala, Vindicara, Gartopa, Nyssa, Jd and myself. Team one was slightly overpowered imo, since team two had a couple of peeps who never been to Kara. Some even got exploration exp!

Shalz asked me if there were any rules, as I said before I wasn?t prepared, so I just replied, kill as many as you can, and cheating is allowed! And im sure they cheated:P After the countdown we went up to attumen. First casualties were vindi and me on a ninja pull and loads of hurricane spam:P But we went to attumen, killed him quick. Peeps heard me talking like on a airplane, so mad did the clip versions raid explanation at every fight, cos Vindicara and Gartopa had absolutely no clue or little clue what they were doing here. Oh an di even sang a little bit of a song, it was a ode to Cele and his new shiny boots. (sings MRS MRS MRS JOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNESSSSSSSSSS After Attumen we speeded up to Moroes cos allegedly team one was on Curator by then or something else. There we kinda lost time, we forgot what was the setup, so finally we stickied some marks up, had a shackle running loose and went mental. Saw some nice trapping from pekkala and poof, Moroes was dead, with all peeps standing stillJ

Then we made our way up to our lovely lady Maiden, again that meant no challenge for us. Yay healingpowerrrrrrrrr from our healers, all were still standing when she dramatically came at her end. Meanwhile I died a couple of more times I think, trying to moonkin tank. Then we went to big robot and killed it before he even ended his first evocation, yay team one! We went straight into opera and had our two lover made a brief cameo appearance cos off course we were spanking their bums to dead! What now, team slack become team spank, good going sofar, all bosses sofar downed in one try. Then on our way to illhoof we got sloppy, we had a couple of ninjapullers, and tried to hide behind the bookcase near illhoof. For future reference, that DOESN`T work, so we had our first almost wipe there. But when illhoof was faced by team spank, he and his little pet didn?t life long, he was deaded soon enough. After this,  to aran we went, that was the first time we had a couple of deaths, but not by flamewreath, I made sure no one dared to move on that cos I spammed raidwarnings, haha.

After aran we had our first challenge of the evening. I know we agreed I wouldn?t tell but its well funny. We went to chess and well we?.. kinda??. Erm????????Can you all remember the guildname  “we wiped at chess ` , well team two should be honorary members there. We didn?t take two tries, but it took us 4, yes you are reading that correct, 4 times to succeed at chess. That is by far the toughest boss for team two for the evening. I laughed soooooooo hard, I almost pied my pants. But we kinda vowed we wouldn?t let team one know, cos off course they would never let us hear the end of it. But its soooooooooooooooooooooo funny. Oh and off course we killed prince as well, but he wasn?t much of a challenge.  A little past midnight we called it, but I still was really proud on team two. I saw some displays of very skilled peeps, great healing, awesome tanking, overall a really good night. I had a blast and I sure hope that all peeps join in when we start raiding wrath thingys. And I hope you all liked your new pets, I hope to see those and you on the next raids cos we have proven that badgers are great fun to raid with!

Patchday Funsies!

October 15th, 2008

So, patchday is here again and today Blizzard thank us yet again for our patience and understanding that they have to keep the servers down untill 14.00 (Paris time, as always. We all know that Paris is the…eh..most awesome city?) So odds are pretty much most of us will be banging our head into walls, tearing at whatever hair we have left and browse webpages and forums for all it’s worth while we wait for our addiction to come back online.

BUT FEAR NOT FELLOW BADGERS!

Because I, Highmagus Shalzur of the Gnomes, have come to help you in this time of need and extreme boredom!

First, head on over to the official site and check out the class forums. There’s loads of entertainment there, here are some quick examples (note, these are from the us forums) ;

Start of a new dawn…

August 20th, 2008

Well this was it, after a couple of weeks planning and panicking, it was time to see how the new group makeup and the new “Raiders” did in Kara. It was the 2nd night in Kara this week so we weren’t starting from scratch, but we were starting from Moroes, so it would be interesting to see how the evening started…

Group makeup was 2 tanks(1 druid, 1 warrior), 2 healers (1 priest, 1 shammy), 6 DPS (mix of hunters, shammy, locks and mage) - all 10 were from the new list of Raiders - ie those that have met the new criteria in terms of hp, dps, +healing etc.

I know, enough of all that - how did we get on?

Well the trash on the way to Moroes was dealt with very swiftly and easily. But then with that much DPS, it should have been easy eh? Then the first real challenge of the night - how to deal with Moroes and his 4 dinner guests with only 1 shackle? Well, easy enough - MT tanks Moroes, OT tanks 2 adds and gets hits on Moroes, nuke one of the priests and keep 1 guest shackled. We took out 3 guests before inviting Moroes to eat carpet and then disposed of the final guest. One death during this fight (yours truly!) and I’ve never seen Moroes dealt with so easily with so little fuss. Lousy loot but hey, it’s badges!

Then onwards and upwards to Opera - trash was easy once again, we motored our way up to Opera without any problems and only 1 death I think - but mages are squishy and gnomes unimportant so who cares? ;-)

Straight into Opera, none of that prancing around running off while Jar “takes one for the team” - and it would have been so much beter if our nub RL (oh yeah - me!) had read the Barnes text properly and called the right event - so instead of Wolf as I was telling everyone, it was actually Wizard of Oz. We had a great grup makeup for this event, but need to work on tactics somewhat, but that will come with practice. Anyway, 3rd attempt and boy was it a long one, Jar, Cele & Suzy finally downing the Crone after 3 manning most of it…Eternium Greathelm for Kojak (yey, cover that bald head!)…

Then the money run towards Curator and nothing we couldn’t handle. And a quick run through of tactics and Curator went down so smoothly and quickly - 2 evocations and he was dust. We had so much DPS that we let the melee guys just dps the boss - no point in them running around after the flares. Each set of flares was awesomely tanked by some seriously handsome hunter and Curator went down. T4 gloves won by Smg and resto druid stuff dissed.

Off to see Aran and teach him a lesson or two. Well it took 3 attempts to down him, but down him we did and he very kindly dropped a trinket for Arcania andyet another item to be dissed. One thing that we have to, have to, have to remember is not to move on Flame Wreaths - it really is quite simple, so why do we manage to die so often due to Flame Wreaths?!?

Off to Chess, easy trash of course, and easy Chess for easy epics :-) Kings Defender for Kojak (lucky sob!) and Ring of Recurrence for  Daevra (who had replaced me after our first Aran attempt).

So our first night with the new system and things went pretty well I think, lots of DKP earned, some epics picked up and plenty of badges. Brush up on tactics and we’ll go from strength to strength!

- Rya

So the last raid of July was “Noobs’ Night in Kara”.

August 1st, 2008

The raiders:
Tanks:
Lollipoppi - Horacio
Healers:
Meleos - Numpty - Iera
Dps
The Mage Trio:Vernin  - Sarita - Mageeca
Arcania  - Andrehunt

The raid started as usual and swiftly we entered Kara a bit before 21h server time on our way to Midnight and Attumen.

Clearing trash, some deaths though (Noobs? Night hé :p), then we came to Midnight, Horacio tanking Midnight, Poppi tanking Attumen. All seemed to go well, when suddenly a group a mobs came across the wall to bash us ? Wipe!  Fortunately SS on a priest you?d say? Bugger not! Nearly all mobs we killed previously respawned! So wipe again. We had to kill all these mobs again from the front door to Midnight and Attumen. This time they were defeated without much trouble.
Loot: Tanking Bracers for Horacio, healing gloves for Iera.

After that we obviously headed to Moroes, rather slowly, some deaths on the way… several ill-fated pulls leading to nearly wipes :p.

Anyway, we finished clearing all the mobs we had to before fighting Moroes. Unfortunately the premature death of a healer in combat led to a wipe. But we were determined to make Moroes bite the dust and he fell on our second attempt.
Loot: 2 caster items, one necklace and one cloak; first item went to Arcania, second item to Vernin.

As we were progressing slowly in the instance, the night was already almost over, but nonetheless we decided to go defeat Maiden of Virtue. Again some spectacular deaths along the way :p.

The fight with Maiden went surprisingly smoothly compared to the two previous fights  . Loot: Tanking necklace for Poppi, healing leather gloves that were dissed.

We finished the raid at this point.

What’s the plan batman?

April 18th, 2008

Well?it was to go Gruul?s lair, and spank up some one eyed beasts, yet due to many real life commitments, numbers were too thin on the ground which is never good, however using the combined intellect of our guildies, we decided to create two teams and have a crack at karazhan

So I was grouped with a team made 40% out of druids, and that was a lot of bear arses staring at me, but I managed to avert my gaze and main tank for the evening. With my trusty bear Jaroic at my side assisting me with the tanking, what could go wrong? And for once, nothing did ? straight to attumen, and he died first time, yet the loot was not very promising, so we wondered if this was a precedent for the evenings run, two epics, both sharded, making one happy guild bank,

We moved on swiftly as many of you know I well?I maybe might possibly be a fast instance raider?maybe?so we hit the stairs, started pulling, all dandy, all easy, but wait, what is that on the floor, oh it?s Cammy?s corpse, seeing as he wasn?t in his full epixed tank, he?d decided to dish out the damage as his imposter Cammeh, fury extraordinaire, but no, he died, apparently trying to beat halo and his death tally, so we ressed him, and proceeded, then sure enough he was down again, we thought, wow two deaths, I doubt there would be a third?oh were we wrong, but back to the show, moroes died, and he died heroically, and we got some lovely loot ? it was indeed Healer night tonight, much to the pleasure of Kirelle and Faewynn, so Signet of unshakeable faith went to Kirelle, and Faewynn became the proud owner of Shadow Cloak of Dalaran

We moved on, again with Cammy and Nod dying spectacularly. Went to opera and again it was Romulus and Julianne, they died first time AGAIN, just like everything else that night, and what have we here, more healer loot?Masquerade Gown went to Fae, and Kirelle received the delicious trinket in the form of Ribbon of sacrifice, alas no Despair for Cammy. We acted pregnant and pushed on, heading to Curator, bypassed the usual trash, hitting Curators room and went berserk, we killed him first time, alas after the second evocation, but he died easily and Nod got Shalzurs beloved Staff of Infinite Mysteries for Boomkin ( even though he is Feral?) and we got well erm?a tier 4 glove for paladin rogue and shaman, and there were well erm, none of them in the raid, so good good blizzard for your loot tables, most disappointing, BUT we did not fret, and scooted to Aran, trash trash trash and more trash fell to our might

Aran?some say he is living, some say he is not quite dead?well he definitely is now, 12feet under and we are two more epics richer for the experience, that?s right, you guessed it, two more epics for our druids, Fae received an offhand Aran?s soothing sapphire, whilst Kirelle bagged his Boots of the Incorrupt

So with the night wearing on, we did what most raids would have done, people were getting tired, we were full on epics?therefore we wanted more, we headed to chess, bish bash bosh, easy epics, Battlescar boots were sharded, BUT Smg won the delicious ring of recurrence to bolster his shadow damage and crit

But it was getting late, so we decided to kill something else ;) illhoof it was, we went to him, demanding /tar demon macros, they were made, we killed him, he dropped Fools bane for the fake Cammy ( who by now had totaled about 8 deaths, beating nod by 4) and again yep you guessed it, MORE healing gear, so gratz to Kirelle who won Heart menders ring

The all important question lingered at the end, so Cele linked dps meters and aww Nod was second to Cammy, who barely topped it, despite being dead for 90% of the raid

One of the best Kara runs I have done, and makes me proud to be a badger, fantastic team effort, exquisite healing, top notch dps, and average to poor tanking on my behalf, with fantastic bear?ing with Jaroic ?

So thanks to Smc, Cammy, Nod, Kirelle, Fae, Pie, Cake, Cele (and his trusty Brutus and Brutus junior), Jar and myself, Terranab

Healers night, they have no reason to complain ever?

Setthekk Halls - Tank = Badgered!

March 30th, 2008

Once upon a time there was a rogue named Xzenia, who so much wanted to do Sethekk Halls. He quickly found a healer named Firstprice, a hunter named Xesc, and a mage named Psykopyro. Time went by as the group asked all channels possible for a kind tank, but none were available. The fact that the time was well past 02:00 at night didn’t seem to make them think that the tanks might have gone to bed, tired from taking so many beatings all day.

Eventually the impatient group started clearing a little trash. The group then after a while gave up on finding a tank, and decided to just try out the instance for themselves. Massive amounts of aoe damage later and with a healer close to nervous breakdown, as well as two deaths by a squishie mage, the group reached their first goal: teh boss! The boss seemed to be no match for the fantastic four, and with a little help from a fire elemental the boss was a piece of pie (again one death by said squishie mage).

Further trash was cleared, until one room seemed to go bananas, and too many adds made Psyko’s net connection turn suicidal. The group, then consisting of three, decided that four mobs and a bird in the group ahead of them might be a little too stressful, and thus promptly ninjaed Scubasteve away from his daily activities, along with a very very tired Haló. This seemed to work very well, having two pets, a trap, and a sap at hand to handle any mobs, the groups went down.

And so, behold, the said squishie mage had returned to the life online! Scuba was keen on his daily quests, and thus Psyko once again joined this party of late night alternative instance tactic explorers.

Eventually the party, tankless, cleared the instance, to much entertainment for this shaman writing.

Not really a huge accomplishment, but hey, now it’s documented; tanks not needed to do Sethekk Halls!
